Do I need to download anything for this?
The virtual program will be held on Zoom. We recommend downloading the app to your phone or computer device. All other student materials and resources for the program can be found on our Student Resources page.
What do I need to take this class?
Once you have Zoom downloaded, you will also need access to our weekly handouts for small group activities. We recommend that you or your program leader print these, but if you have them online that will work just fine too. Grab a pen or pencil and a some paper and you'll be good to go.
Where should I be to participate in this class?
We recommend that you find a quite spot so you're able to focus, but we understand that space is limited. If you have some headphones to plug into your smart phone, computer, or other device, that will be really helpful so we are able to hear you and you can hear us during the sessions.
Who will I be in small groups with?
You will be in small groups with students from all over the country. There could be some students from your city or program but this is also an opportunity for you to know musicians from other cities and programs.
Who will my small group leader be?
You will be assigned your group leader before the first day of the program. Think of your interaction with your small group leader being like your camp councilor. Your small group leader is a highly qualified teaching artist and professional in the field. They come from high profile jobs, ensembles, organizations, etc and have been highly vetted for their job as your small group teaching artist. You will love getting to know them during the 6 weeks and learning from them along with many others.
How many classes are there and how many do I need to attend?
There will be a total of 18 classes: 3 per week for 6 weeks. We require that students attend, at a minimum, 14 of the 18 classes.
