Youth Advocacy Council
The Youth Advocacy Council (YAC) consists of alumni of Project 440 programs, the School District of Philadelphia, and other young leaders from throughout the region with a passion for music and the arts. Participants meet twice monthly and receive leadership, project management, governance, and advocacy training, as well as earning a $10/hour stipend for their time and work.
The mission of YAC is to use peer to peer influence to ensure diverse representation in Project 440’s programs and to provide feedback on program content. YAC envisions a world where all students in Philadelphia can grow and are supported in achieving music literacy.
YAC activities include:
Student outreach
Planning and hosting an annual YAC event
Contributing to Project 440 social media
Presenting an annual report to the Project 440 Board
