College Fair FAQs

For Attendees

Is there a fee to attend the fair?
No! Attendance at the College Fair is free, including participation in the Project 440 College Readiness Workshops. However, advance registration is strongly encouraged. Click here for Attendee Registration.

Do I have to complete a registration for everyone who is attending with me?

Where does the College Fair take place?
The 2023 College Fair for Musicians will be held in-person at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, 300 S. Broad Street, Philadelphia. 

What Colleges and Universities will be at the fair?
You will have the opportunity to talk directly with representatives from music schools and departments from an anticipated 50 colleges and universities nationwide. Past attendees have included Temple University Boyer College of Music and Dance, Carnegie Mellon University School of Music, Berklee College of Music and the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. Who should attend the fair?
All students with an interest in music, regardless of whether you plan to major in music are welcome! Anyone from an instrumental player to someone with a passion for hip-hop, as well as those who are just curious about what it means to study music in college are encouraged to attend! 

What is the program for the day?
Project 440 will offer morning and afternoon sessions of our College Readiness workshops. The Exhibitor sessions with representatives from the music departments and schools is scheduled for the afternoon from 1 pm – 3 pm (timing is subject to change).

For colleges & universities

How much does it cost to table at the 2023 College Fair?
The fee is $250 per table. This fee includes:

Access:

  • The opportunity to talk with hundreds of young musicians and their parents during the Exhibitor Session (1 – 3 p.m.) 

  • One 6’ table with black table linen and 2 chairs (Table placement is randomly assigned)

  • Designated break room for College & University representatives 

Visibility and recognition: 

  • Your College/University name and logo with a link to your website on the Project 440 College Fair web page for up to 12 months following the Fair.

  • Recognition at the College Fair for Musicians

I’m coming from out of town. Where should I stay?
Please indicate on the “comments” section of the registration form if you require overnight accommodations; we will email you with more information. Most Center City hotels are within a half-mile to one-mile walking distance from the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. 

Who attends the College Fair for Musicians?
More than 300 young people from throughout the greater-Philadelphia region and Mid-Atlantic are expected to attend the Fair. Attendees are typically 8th-12th grade students who want to learn more about opportunities to pursue music in higher education - that can mean majoring, minoring, or concentrating in many areas of music including performance, business, education, and more.
