Rebecca Bolden

Executive Director

Rebecca Bolden joined Project 440 as its Executive Director in January 2022. Rebecca has held many leadership positions in Philadelphia’s nonprofit cultural sector. Most recently, she served as the Senior Director of Development at the National Constitution Center where she helped to elevate the Center’s mission of constitutional education and significantly increased support for the expansion of its nationally recognized youth education programs. She also secured support for the creation of its exhibit commemorating the centennial anniversary of voting rights for women. Rebecca was also the Director of Development at Fleisher Art Memorial, the nation’s oldest community art school and the Executive Director of The Philadelphia Singers, a professional chorus that also served as the Resident Chorus of The Philadelphia Orchestra from 2001 through 2011.

Rebecca has a lifelong love of music and received her B.A. in Music from Clark University.

Joseph Conyers

Founder & vision advisor

Citizen musician, entrepreneur, and youth advocate Joseph H. Conyers - Principal Double Bass of The Philadelphia Orchestra – is a highly acclaimed, multi-faceted artist whose innovative work in music education and access has been recognized internationally. Awards include the Sphinx Organization’s Medal of Excellence (2019), the Theodore L Kesselman Award for Arts Education from the New York Youth Symphony (2019), the C. Hartman Kuhn Award – the highest award bestowed upon a musician in the Philadelphia Orchestra (2018), Musical America’s 30 Top Professionals: Innovators, Independent Thinkers, and Entrepreneurs (2018), the inaugural Young Alumni Award from the Curtis Institute of Music (2015), and “30 Leaders 30 and Under” in Ebony Magazine (2007).

Joseph’s broad-ranging career was featured on PBS’s Articulate which highlighted his work as Founder & Vision Advisor of Project 440.

A 2004 Sphinx Organization Laureate, Joseph has been a bass soloist with numerous orchestras and has for a number of years been an artist of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. As a conductor, Joseph has served as the Music Director of Philadelphia’s All-City Orchestra and is also currently the Director of the Young Artists Orchestra of the Boston University Tanglewood Institute. Joseph is the artistic director and founder of the newly formed Dubhe, a collective of some of the most influential chamber and orchestral musicians in the world that creates performances centered on authentic community connection, inclusivity, and long-lasting impact. A frequent guest clinician and public speaker presenting from coast to coast, Joseph serves on the double bass faculty of The Juilliard School. Joseph performs on the "Zimmerman/Gladstone" 1802 Vincenzo Panormo Double Bass which he has affectionately named “Norma.”

Marcus Bryant

Manager of Programs & Student Engagement

Marcus ‘Rated Art’ Bryant, is a well-respected figure in the music industry with over a decade of experience writing, producing, and directing across multiple genres. He collaborates with renowned artists such as John Legend, H.E.R., Ludacris, and many more. His songs have been featured on popular shows like American Idol and Black-ish and in global campaigns like NBA Cares. Bryant's music was performed during the Democratic National Convention when used as President Obama's campaign anthem. He is signed with Sony Music Publishing, a voting member of the Recording Academy/GRAMMYs, and the Vice President of the Philadelphia Chapter. His contributions as the former Director/Community Engagement Manager and D.E.I. officer of Settlement Music School have been instrumental in navigating periods of racial unrest and shaping their Community Partnerships and Programming.

As the founder and CEO of LOUD Series, Marcus utilizes the platform as a catalyst for motivation and radical change, participating in various related efforts on a global scale. He is dedicated to using music as a means to inspire and drive positive transformation. Currently, Marcus aka "Rated Art" is finalizing his debut EP, as a follow up to his singles "Listen" and "Elevation", now available. You can also hear his sound on various collaborations, including "Rush" featuring H.E.R from Stokley's "Sankofa" album, AAries' singles "Better Days" and "Meant," and AJ Evans' tracks "You're My Desire" and "I Can't Breathe" from the 2023 Stellar Award nominated project "Not 2 Young."
