About Project 440
Project 440 is designed to encourage, educate and empower communities through the unifying power of music. Focused on service, our organization seeks to establish music as a central tool for education, leadership, and community building. The music industry is at a crossroads. There is an ever growing demand for immediate access to music. Why then are budgets for music programs the first to be slashed across the country? This is our opportunity as musicians – educators, performers, and teaching artists alike – to utilize this momentum to develop an ever-growing appreciation of our art form. This rings especially true to us labeled in the “classical music” industry. The study of music promotes team work, leadership, and self confidence. The performance of music creates shared experiences that build relationships and communities.
“Our mission is to create community through music.
Our vision is to build self worth in everyone we serve so that they in turn serve others.”
Our Goal
The goal of Project 440’s programs is to equip musicians with the tools they need to be successful, engaging, and relevant pillars of their community. The duties of the 21st century classical musician must evolve with this ever-changing world.
We must actively seek out and teach future generations, we must think of innovative ways to inspire every facet of our communities, and we must continue to find ways to relate all aspects of “contemporary” music and art to our own expression.
